Why this Learning & Development Practitioner position exists:

This position is responsible for managing, developing, planning, and implementing activities related to Learning and Development in line with the Group and Opco Learning and Development strategies to impact business outcomes.


KEY DELIVERABLES:

O&L Group Learning and Development Strategy, Policy, and Procedure

  • Execute Learning and Development initiatives at Kraatz which aligns to the O&L Group Learning and Development Strategy.
  • Implement the O&L Group Learning and Development Policy and Procedure: *Set and execute the Opco strategic agenda for Learning and Development in line with the Group strategic agenda.
  • Report on OpCo Learning and Development metrics.
  • Source and curate suitable Learning and Development activities using internal and external content and subject matter experts.
  • Comply to the Learning and Development Policy and Procedures.
  • Support Line Managers in their responsibility to develop their team.
  • Support employees in their growth and development journeys.
  • Support employees to complete on-the-job assignments, implement learning and share learning with colleagues.
  • Set, guide, manage and report on Opco Learning and Development budget.
  • Ensure that Learning and Development activities are aligned to the business outcomes achieved guided by the Opco Breakthrough Strategy.

Competency Model

  • Execute the skills assessment process to inform learning and development activities and skills development.
  • Continuously identify current and future skills gaps from continuous assessment to inform skills development strategies &activities.
  • Report on skills proficiency change of learners before and after learning activity implementation and its impact on business outcomes.
  • Plan, manage and coordinate knowledge management initiatives to ensure retention and transfer of knowledge.

Project Management

  • Manage Kraatz Learning and Development projects.
  • Develop suitable project plans in terms of stakeholders involved schedules, resources, tasks, and timelines to execute learning and development activities and specific projects.
  • Execute the engagement, communication and change management involved in the project.
  • Execute Instructional Design projects in collaboration with external consultants or training providers.

Instructional Design

  • Assess development needs (OpCo-, Departmental-, Team- &Individual level).
  • Develop learning outcome statements that impact business outcomes.
  • Assess the quality and relevance of instructional content in relation to the desired learning outcomes and business outcomes to be achieved.
  • Engage with subject matter experts to elicit knowledge, skills, and experience to develop, support and enhance learning activities.

Deliver Learning Interventions

  • Coordinate the logistics.
  • Facilitate learning face-to-face, on-the-job and / or online.
  • Coordinate all Talent Development initiatives with Talent Pool Candidates.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of Talent Pool Candidates to track their progress.

Learning Management System

  • Utilise the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Manage courses and programmes on the LMS' as required.
  • Provide first-line support to employees on the LMS.

Reporting

  • Interrogate reports to ensure the future sustainability of skills development aligned to the business outcomes.
  • Compile Learning and Development reports as required.
  • Compile and submit Group specific Learning and Development reports as required.
  • Analyse Learning and Development reports to give insight and guidance into future Learning and Development strategies, activities, and initiatives.

Coordinate and manage the annual learning and development plan (and budget) to respond to learning and development strategy

  • Through engagement and interdependent business partnering, develop the annual Learning and Development plan and coinciding budget.
  • Present the plan for budgeting purposes.
  • Conduct research and provide insight into training methodology, delivery methods and relevant adult learning techniques to increase development success.
  • Plan, manage and coordinate overall experiential learning programmes to respond to immediate and long-term development needs.
  • Compile annual progress reports for reporting purposes.
  • Advise and align on programme obstacles and solutions.

Manage Individual Learning and Development Planning process for groups and individuals

  • Liaise with line management and individuals to plan and structure development plans.
  • Work interdependently with Human Capital to ensure new employees have development plans in place.
  • Coordinate, track and monitor the implementation success of the Individual Learning and Development plans.
  • Manage and coordinate individual career paths.
  • Coach and support line managers and individuals on career development and growth initiatives.
  • Compile annual progress reports for reporting purposes.
  • Advise and align on programme obstacles and solutions.

General and Ad hoc Duties

  • Keep confidential documents and trade secrets of the Company secure.
  • Relieveand assist in all areas during periods of absence or crisis.
  • Attend to any reasonable request made by SLT and GLT.
  • Report, and where possible handle, cases of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, or contravention of regulations.
  • Attend meetings, training courses, workshops or seminars as required.
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures and maintain Company standards.

Qualification(s):

  • Min 3 Year Bachelors Degree

Experience:

  • Min 6 Year
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in planning, organising, and executing L&D activities and projects.
  • Facilitating and assessing Learning and Development initiatives.
  • Instructional Design and Development.
  • Online Learning Design and Development
  • Experience in engineering environment.

Other:

  • MS Office proficient
