PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To oversee the financial management, reporting, statutory compliance, and general accounting functions for O&L Leisure and ensure compliance with established procedures and policies. Co-lead the finance function, control and coordinate the financial processes required for hotel operations and Central Office.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelors degree in accounting/ commerce/ management accounting or financial accounting
- 3-5 years experience in accounting and financial management preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of IFRS and accounting practices.
- Proficient in SAP and Opera systems.
- Knowledge of Income Tax Act, Companies Act, VAT Act
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage, review, and execute month-end management accounts for submission by the 6th working day of each month.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Upload bank statements to the various GL accounts with accuracy & timeliness.
- Clear bank control accounts regularly for accurate financial records.
- Post ad-hoc vendor invoices, including those related to capital projects.
- Reconcile closing inventory figures between Materials Control and SAP.
- Support external audits and conduct internal audits on financial processes and controls.
- Generate detailed management accounts for accurately and timely with supporting documents.
- Process all taxation activities, ensuring timely payment of Import VAT, VAT, Withholding Tax on Services, and Withholding Tax on Interest.
- Reconcile, complete, and submit tax returns on ITAS.
- Review creditors reconciliations and authorize payments.
- Assist in raising purchase orders and goods received vouchers at Central Office.
- Process all bank transactions, including bank charges and interest, and capture all banking receipts.
- Reconcile bank statements monthly for inspection by the line manager before the completion of monthly management accounts.
- Monitor cash flow by comparing available cash against periodic payment needs and plan accordingly.
- Review Petty Cash monthly.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process as required.
- Assist in fixed assets capitalization, verification, and counts as a custodian.
- Recommend cost reduction strategies and revenue enhancement.
