We are seeking a skilled and reliable Bus Driver to join our team. This role is essential to ensure the safe and timely transportation of workers to and from mining sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a bus to transport workers to and from mining sites.
- Ensure timely departures and arrivals, adhering to set schedules.
- Maintain safe driving practices at all times, especially in challenging terrain or weather conditions.
- Inspect the vehicle daily for safety, cleanliness, and proper functioning.
- Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, ensuring the safety and comfort of all workers.
- Complete any required paperwork, such as travel logs and vehicle inspection forms.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the fleet maintenance team promptly.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, health, and the environment.
General Requirements:
- Valid Namibian driver's license Code C or equivalent with valid PDP.
- Previous experience as a bus driver or in a heavy vehicle driving role (mining or construction industry experience preferred).
- Experience with mine-site transportation is compulsory.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols in remote and hazardous work environments.
- Follow established routes, schedules & speed limits to endure timely and safe travel.
- Monitor passenger behaviour and ensure all safety protocols, such as seatbelt usage, are followed.
- Ability to drive in off-road or challenging weather and terrain conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to work long shifts, including nights and weekends, and in remote locations.
- Namibian Code of Conduct - not older than 6 months
