MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To carry out the work necessary for exploration and resource mapping, geophysical and geochemical surveys, sampling and drilling programs.
Key Performance Areas:
- Locate and delineate deposits and prospects using geoscientific and geophysical techniques and datasets to predict the nature, distribution and grade in known and unknown areas.
- Utilise geological software packages to process data to generate and refine exploration targets, geology models and resource estimates.
- Execute exploration drilling and mapping projects.
- Survey and map geologically promising sites.
- Execute geophysical survey projects.
- Conduct QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) of inputs and data from a variety of sources.
- Map, record, and compile geological data to provide details of ore location, structure, and distribution in deposits and prospects.
- Provide weekly and monthly progress reports, including environmental reports and other documentation on required frequencies.
- Participate in and provide input into the evaluation and resource management strategies.
Requirements and experience:
- Grade 12 or current NSSCO with 20 points over 5 subjects.
- BSc. Honours Degree in Geology or similar qualification in Geology.
- 3 years experience as a Resource/Exploration Geologist in a uranium exploration environment.
- Execution of resource and exploration drilling programs.
- Logging drill core and RC chips and producing quality drill hole logs.
- Field mapping and surveys.
- Compilation of geological maps, sections and reports.
- Data management systems.
- Collate and interpret data from various sources into maps and sections.
- Valid Code B/BE Drivers License
