Description

  • Perform cost control and reporting for the entitys assets, ensuring comprehensive and accurate reporting to management.
  • Collect data and information for the annual budget/AFE in collaboration with technical leads and budget owners.
  • Monitor ongoing technical costs, propose revised forecasts based on the latest work scope, and provide variance analyses as needed.
  • Conduct ad hoc budget reviews and variance analysis for management and HQ.

Invoice Verification and Budget Updates

  • Verify invoices to ensure timely payments, including PO/Contract alignment, request for services, tariff adherence, and service realization.
  • Update budgets to reflect accurate financial data.
  • Prepare all required documentation for month-end closure (e.g., accruals, SKF).

Monthly Reporting

  • Compile monthly cost reports with variance analysis to support technical managers in managing budgets and costs.
  • Prepare monthly management reports in collaboration with HQ.
  • Collaborate with the stock control/logistics team to integrate stock movements (received, transferred, or returned) into accounting records for accurate well cost reporting.

Commitment Review and Reconciliation

  • Review commitments to ensure the accuracy of cost objects, contract amounts, currency splits, and other financial data.
  • Maintain records and processes to track advance payments to contractors and vendors.
  • Perform reconciliations with accounting and exploration reporting systems.

Collaboration and Process Improvement

  • Work closely with technical teams (e.g., Drilling, Logistics, Exploration, Operations) to understand and follow up on allocated costs and cost re-invoicing.
  • Implement control processes and tools, providing recommendations to improve financial reporting efficiency and quality.
  • Leverage SAP and BW systems to automate and integrate reports and controls.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all financial and operational matters.
  • Participate in HSE trainings, adhere to internal policies, and report any anomalies.
  • Perform other duties as delegated.

  • Ensure cost control is performed in compliance with group standards and requirements.
  • Deliver reliable, high-quality cost control and reporting.

Requirements

  • 58 years of experience in a costing role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Diploma/Certificate in Accounting or Finance is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
  • Strong ethics, reliability, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent active listening and presentation skills.
