Position summary

Introduction

Work closely with the banks Managing Director to support the implementation and delivery of the approved strategy of the bank by way of a two-pronged marketing strategy focused on, one, the creation of overall brand awareness and, two, product/offering marketing.

Job description


  • Serve on the Executive Management Team (EMT) of the bank. Advise EMT on impact of decisions on the reputation of the brand, as well as on relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Spearhead the banks rebranding project with strategic internal and external interventions and project management;
  • Provides strategic direction on matters related to marketing, corporate communication, stakeholder management, customer experience and business intelligence;
  • Design the brand marketing strategies and processes that can translate effectively across multiple channels, conventional and digital;
  • Gain in-depth understanding of the entire customer journey with all areas that could influence customer experience for each customer segment.
  • Overseeing the development and integration of people, processes and technology disciplines to ensure the delivery of a best in class customer experience.
  • Position the division as the key to delivering change through deep insights into customer behaviour and market trends;
  • Position and strengthen the Bank Gaborone brand, while reinforcing awareness that the bank is a member of Capricorn Group, through the implementation of marketing, advertising, public relations, communication and social investment policies, strategies and programmes
  • Fulfill a high-level representational and spokesperson role for the bank;
  • Provide an advisory and strategic input role in EMT and Board appointed committees; and
  • Submit management reports to the EMT and to the Board of Directors.

Minimum requirements

  • Min of a degree in Marketing and/or Corporate Communication or related field;
  • Continuous personal development in fields including Digital Marketing, Customer Experience, Advertising, Business Intelligence and Social Investment would be ideal
  • Min of 10 years experience in a commercial or similar environment, of which 5 years should have been in senior management position within a financial environment.
  • 2 3 years experience working for a multi-national financial services group or similar group of companies in countries outside of Botswana, regionally or internationally.
  • Proven track record of experience of driving the role out and embedding of a monolithic brand through a related brand journey.
