Audit Assistant - Job Responsibilities and Duties
May include, but not limited to:
- Forming part of the Audit team
- Be familiar with handling clients and develop a good relationship with them
- Providing clients with relevant insights and staying up to date with pertinent global and local issues to provide clients with cutting edge service
- Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation
- Performing tests of control and evaluating clients overall control environment
- Performing the procedures as required by the work programs (i.e Performing and analyzing substantive and analytical procedures)
- Ensure audit documentation meet international standards and quality standards
- Communicates audit findings with manager/partner
- Draft reports
- Produce management reports and consider audit points for discussion with the clients
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Taxation duties
May include, but not limited to:
- Gathering taxpayer information
- Computing tax computations (Income tax, PAYE, VAT, etc)
- Attending taxpayer queries
- Attending filing of returns (ITAS and/or manual)
- Resolving taxpayer issues
- Registration of taxes and other related services
Admin duties
May include, but not limited to:
- Office admin, which could include filing, attend the reception desk or running errands

Requirements
Audit Assistant Skills and Qualification:
- Bachelor degree in accounting (or similar). Any work experience in relevant field would be an added advantage.
- Audit as a subject is a must
- Keen attention to detail
- Must possess logic reasoning
- Must possess knowledge of excel
- Must be exceptional in calculations
- Should have knowledge about accounting and audit standards
- Must be organized and hardworking
- Financial skill, reporting, and research skills
- Trustworthy, reliable, and honest
- Punctual, reliable and must possess strong communication skill
- Prioritization skills, and time management
- Flexible and willing to travel and work overtime
- Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English
