Position summary
Introduction
Responsible for the management of a Merchant portfolio in area of designation through selling of Bank Gaborone POS solutions to merchants. The role entails effectively providing Sales, Technical and Back Office support as well as training merchants on Point-Of-Sale terminals, eCommerce, Integrated POS as well as Soft POS to grow the Bank Gaborone Merchant portfolio.

Sales Focus
Acquire new Merchant sales
Collaborate with Business/Branches for acquisition of new merchants as a Strategic partner
Initiate and launch proactive sales actions to rectify growth challenges
Identify cross selling opportunities where necessary
Customer Focus
The consultant needs to ensure that the Channel (POS) is working technically optimally for the Merchant
Training of the Merchant to understand and be able to use the channel optimally.
Serve as an intermediary between Bank Gaborone and the client/branches.
Solve all raised technical queries from the Merchant regarding the channel.
Provide an efficient and competitive service to clients and branches.
Complete Merchant Agreements, Setup forms and other application forms with clients
Assist branches in the setup of Merchant Agreements and application forms of the clients.
Complete reports for all client service calls and visits
Assisting clients and branches with service queries
Provide Fraud and Compliance training to merchants.
Administration
Merchant agreements and related Application Forms
Setting up of Merchants and installing of services
Service delivery (Call/Contact Reports)
Follow up on all POS reports for Business Performance and Management.
Due diligence in terms of working methodically and according to defined processes and procedures in manuals.
Identify risk areas in the department relating to process improvements, financial losses and client impacts.
Revenue Leakage management
Stock Management

Support
Courtesy visits to all merchants within the Portfolio
Regular testing of the POS devices at merchants to ensure that the services are online and functional.
Regular Merchant re-trainings
Capturing and Loading of Merchants
Terminal Configuration and Installation at Merchant Site
Termination and management of non-performing Merchants
Identify potential or actual suspect/fraudulent merchant behaviour and escalate.
Act as liaison to the Merchant and support in terms of device/system support/change requests
Incident Management
Cost Recovery Unpaid, Commission Charges, Changes requested, etc.
Minimum requirements
Bachelors degree in information systems, Business or any other related field
Card Professional certification will be an added advantage.
Merchant Acquiring Knowledge
Four (4) years experience in Sales or Technical field
Extensive knowledge on Banking products and Systems
Ability to identify Business Opportunities & Cross sell products.
Proficiency in Computer applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
Good written and Oral communication
Excellent Interpersonal relationship skills
Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of Visa Rules and Regulations.
