Purpose of the Job: To manage the country's collection portfolio, recommend and implement remedial action to minimise the loss by collecting all monies owed to the organisation.

Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

1. Conducts a daily review of the loan book arrears position and advice management on the progress of recovery of all deduction at source loans in arrears.

2. Monitor and coordinate all collections activities for loans at the different branches within the region in line with collections policy.

3. Initiates and monitors the transfer of the non-performing loan portfolio in liaison with the country Head of Risk.

4. Prepares the authorization documents with appropriate documentation for approval or decision making on realization of the bad debts.

5. Identifies and advise on all delinquent accounts that require legal proceedings on a regular basis.

6. Prepares monthly reports such as portfolio health and advice the Head of Risk.

7. Management of key stakeholders (DAS Employers etc.).

8. Advise on best practice on the collections and tracing procedures.

5. Ability to deliver results and meeting customer (internal and external) expectations.



Required Knowledge and Skills:

1. Grade 12 with 25 points and above.

2. Bachelors degree Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Economics.

3. At least 7 years experience in collections within Financial Services.

4. Understanding of the business drivers and the strategic direction the group and role of risk management in achieving objectives.

5. Hands on experience with collections system.
