Description

Interpret and ensure implementation of policy frameworks at the Regional Council in line with approved legislation.

Provide technical input in Directorate and Divisional operational planning ensuring that outcomes support the strategic plan and decentralization.

Oversee the establishment of procedures for controlling monitoring and progress reporting of activities of work programmes in the division.

On a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, review progress against individual and divisional plans and against budgets.

Ensure that work plans are drawn up.

Provide advice to the Regional Council on matters pertaining to planning.

Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports of the Regional Council.

Monitor and evaluate annual workplan and report progress to the Council.

Monitor and prepare progress reports on capital projects for Regional Council.

Represent the Regional Council on external committees and at workshops, conferences and symposiums.

Prepare development budget for the division and engineering services for settlement areas.

Deal with consultants and contractors for services in Regional Councils and settlement areas.

Making plans using detailed drawings

Preparing estimates and budgets

Creating accurate project specifications

Designing engineering experiments

Creating technical reports for customers

Completing regulatory documents concerning safety issues

Finishing projects on time and within budget

Communicating with clients and coworkers about analysis results

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Registration as Professional Engineer/Incorporated Engineer with the Engineering Council of Namibia.

NB: Proof of registration must be submitted within 12 calendar months after the date of appointment.

Important Clauses in the submission of applications:

• Applicants must be Namibian Citizens.

• Only originally certified copies certified by the Namibian Police will be accepted.

• Only appropriate experience, which is proven, will be considered, therefore, certificates of services, testimonials from former and current employers must be attached as proof.

• Candidates with foreign qualifications must attach their evaluation of qualification from Namibian Qualification Authority (NQA).

• Applications not complying with the above may be disqualified.
