MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Oversees HR operations (recruitment, remuneration, employee relations, training and development), designing, developing and execute best-practice initiatives that will support the overall strategic objectives and targets of the Company.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Develops the HR strategy to improve and maintain the HR service delivery.
  • Proactively plans, organizes, directs and controls the human resources strategic plan and ensure alignment with the Companys goals and objectives.
  • Ensure effective benefit and compensation policies, practices and systems are in place in accordance with collective agreements, company guidelines and best practices.
  • Keep EXCO informed about legislative requirements and ensure compliance with statutory regulations, HR policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Facilitate appropriate wage and salary review mandating for Swakop Uranium (SU).
  • Partnering with HODs to understand the long-term human resources requirements, identify areas of opportunity and implement Human Resource interventions needed to meet the short and longer-term strategies.
  • Identifying the human capital required to meet Company goals and align labor budget requirements.
  • Compile and manage the annual financial budget for the human resources department, and implement cost saving initiatives.
  • Inform EXCO about trends, challenges and opportunities in order to facilitate policy-making, and to enable appropriate decision making.
  • Represent the Company on various industry bodies as designated by EXCO to ensure effective internal / external controls and management information systems are in place.

Requirements and experience:

  • Honors Degree in Human Resources Management or Behavioral Science.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantaged.
  • 12 Years experience of which 5 years should have been in senior management capacity, comprised of but not limited to:
  • Compensation planning, Designing and remuneration strategies, Change management, Organizational development, Succession planning, Recruitment, Labor relations, Performance management, Training, Employee wellness and Disability management.
  • Valid Code B/BE Drivers License.
