Job Purpose

To ensure the successful overall commercial completion of a project, including maximization of profit, effective forecasting of project, cost calculations and reconciliations, including stringent cost controls and associated payment procedures. Ensures contractual rights and obligations are met, both from a main contracting as well as a subcontracting perspective. Coach and develops subordinates across the board. Responsible for producing Cost Reports.

Qualifications

6 -8-year Industry related

Experience in structural steel engineering

General Duties

Produce project plans and detailed work breakdown structure and continuously update

Assist with managing tender process - drafting, submission & follow up

Reviewing construction plans and prepare quantity and cost requirements

Applying value management techniques on the onset of the project where appropriate and applicable, and involve Senior Management where necessary

Track lead times of materials and project execution, escalate any deviances to management and suggest preventative measures

Process improvement - identifying and act on ways to improve internal systems and processes

Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on budget management

Procurement of materials as per tender requirements

Scrutinize maintenance and material cost, as well as suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure best commercial position for Kraatz

Take ownership of estimation and project cost planning activities

Ensure project cost variances and control processes are effectively and proactively managed

Engage with clients and external stakeholders

Visit construction sites to gather information for tenders/projects

Establish and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Ensure QA/QC procedures are adhered to

Work collaboratively with personnel across all business units

Ensure compliance to SHEQ legislation

Access and advise on project feasibility

Ensure customer requirements are clearly specified

Report any client related difficulties to management

Ensure compliance with relevant laws,regulations,and industry standards

Manage profitability of projects

Assist in the resolution of disputes related to costs and contracts
