PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Ensures manpower effectiveness and optimal operational output is maintained through accurate planning, directing and supervision of all production related activities ensures safe working conditions and that technical investigations on effectiveness are carried out, yield cost targets and customer requirements are met.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12
- 5 - 8 years experience in a supervisory role within a fish processing environment
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Plan, organize and control production in such a way that optimal results can be achieved, and adjusts the methods of working within certain parameters when circumstances require.
- Coordinate the entire production process and strive to improve productivity and minimize delays.
- Verify that all products are processed according to required specification (incl. filleting, trimming, weighing, packaging & labelling)
- Minimize yield loss by ensuring correct control measures are in place and adhered to.
- Maintain adherence to the Fish Utilization Plan.
- Ensure the cold chain process is maintained
- Manage and ensure adherence to cost control measures pertaining to all aspects of production incl. packaging, consumables etc.
- Communicate and ensure daily targets are met.
- Administrate subordinates remuneration by controlling clock cards, time regulations, working hours, overtime, various leave and absences etc.
