Our client in the renewable energy is seeking a seasoned Manager to lead their Wind Operations & Maintenance (O&M) department, this person is responsible for overseeing established contracts in Lderitz, Namibia.

The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in renewable energy operations, strong financial acumen, and excellent leadership skills. They must ensure the efficient running of the O&M department while fostering positive relationships with customers and suppliers to deliver on production and profit goals.

Key Activities:

Oversee All Activities of the Wind O&M Department:

  • Direct and manage all operational aspects of the Wind O&M department.
  • Implement best practices for maintenance and operation to maximize efficiency and energy production.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Perform Administrative Tasks of the Wind O&M Department:

  • Handle administrative duties related to departmental operations, including scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of operational activities, maintenance schedules, and compliance documentation.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among team members and departments.

Manage Finances, Budgets, and Report on Financial Matters:

  • Develop and oversee budgets for the Wind O&M department, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.

Manage All Aspects of Fixed Operations to Achieve Production and Profit Goals:

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Optimize production processes to meet or exceed contractual obligations and profitability targets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reductions and efficiency improvements across operations.

Manage All Personnel Matters:

  • Lead recruitment, training, and development of O&M staff to build a skilled and motivated team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees to promote professional growth.
  • Address personnel issues in a timely and effective manner, fostering a positive work environment.

Maintain Effective Relationships with Customers:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring satisfaction with service delivery.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, maintaining open lines of communication.
  • Conduct regular meetings and reviews with customers to discuss performance, projects, and any issues.

Maintain Effective Relationships with Suppliers:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure favourable terms for the company.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services necessary for operations.

Maintain Records and Report Writing:

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all operational activities and incidents.
  • Prepare detailed reports on operational performance, maintenance activities, and financial status for management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain records for regulatory compliance and internal audits.

Maintain and Promote the Interests of Company Holding:

  • Represent company in industry forums and community engagements.
  • Promote the companys values and objectives through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth and expansion in the renewable energy sector.

Requirements

Education :

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years in wind energy operations and maintenance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in budget management and financial reporting.
  • Strong ability to lead teams, manage conflicts, and drive performance in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Namibian energy regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong understanding of wind turbine technology, maintenance practices, and performance optimization.

Working Conditions

  • Based in Lderitz, Namibia, with potential travel to other project sites as required.
