PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To perform all maintenance and repair work monitoring all actions and movements on the floor as per specific land and building schedules on a weekly basis in order to ensure that all repair work within the building is performed and facilitate the smooth operation of the department.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Grade 12 with 1 year experience as a maintenance worker.
  • Level 1-2 Technical/Maintenance Certificate

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Daily maintenance tasks

  • Follow a maintenance schedule for lands and buildings, ensuring every area is regularly checked and repaired as necessary.
  • Provide daily reports to the supervisor on any faults, issues, or necessary repairs. Ensure all activities are well-documented and aligned with the set checklists (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Plan and execute routine handyman work activities efficiently, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and align with company standards.
  • Plan and report on the daily routine of handyman work activities.
  • Interact professionally with internal staff or customers while performing tasks, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Observe and inspect the premises (e.g., Avis) for necessary repairs, reporting them to the supervisor to prevent future issues.
  • Assist the engineering team with specific tasks, including plumbing (fixing pipes) and basic electrical repairs, such as changing lights.
  • Handle minor carpentry tasks, including fixing furniture, repairing shelves, or assembling/disassembling cabinets or desks.

Health & Safety compliance housekeeping

  • Clean all areas after repair work or maintenance was done.
  • Maintain cleanliness & tidiness of the workplace
  • Check that personal hygiene meets the set standards
  • Maintain quality health and safety procedures at all times
  • Adhere to ISO procedures
  • Adhere to the Health, safety, and environmental procedures & policies of the company
  • Report all safety incidents to the production manager
