PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To lead, guide, and support the Finance Department in processing and reconciling monthly financial information, ensuring the provision of accurate financial reports. The role ensures compliance with all statutory regulations and reporting standards, contributing to the sustainability of the business. Additionally, the position involves overseeing financial strategy, maintaining a strong control environment, and managing financial risks effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Degree in Management Accounting with 5 Years working experience in Finance Environment.
  • 3 years completed articles with a registered institution.
  • Registration as CA/CIMA will serve as an advantage. SAP experience

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop, improve, and enforce financial policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, including preparing and submitting reports in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Manage SAP integrity, including master data and compliance
  • Review, approve, and submit all statutory returns (excluding payroll-related returns).
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and manage working capital to improve cash flow and the companys financial position.
  • Assist with financial legal matters, including reviewing contracts.
  • Manage and execute reporting requirements for PnP and O&L, including annual, half-year, quarterly, and monthly reports
  • Prepare and review tax calculations, including normal, provisional, and deferred taxes.
  • Prepare accurate and timely weekly and monthly creditor payments in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Oversee the preparation of audit files and assist auditors during audits
  • Conduct in-store compliance audits to ensure adherence to policies, identifying and addressing any risks or inconsistencies.
  • Lead risk identification processes and develop mitigation plans.
  • Resolve operational queries related to procurement, article maintenance, and other related matters
  • Review and ensure the effectiveness of monthly controls managed by PIM, and assist with implementing corrective actions.
