Position summary

Introduction

Responsible for the design, maintenance and support of both production and staging databases, as well as for the overall health, availability, recoverability and performance of these databases.

Job description

Troubleshoot and resolve server, database and data issues

Security maintenance of server and database

Maintenance and monitoring of SQL environment

Administer Microsoft SQL Server database environments

T-SQL scripting and development on both new and existing functions

Performance tuning and optimization of SQL and related technology

Provides performance reviews and tuning recommendations for applications

Provide debugging assistance to development staff with DBMS.

Tests and implements new releases of SQL Server-related software

Develop and support SQL replication/log shipping

Maintain certifications in line with current software releases

Minimum requirements

• Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology (IT), or related IT qualification
• MCITP
• MCDBA or MCTS
• Five (5) years SQL Server experience and two (2) years SQL database administration experience
• T-SQL Scripting experience
• Sharepoint
• SQL clustering
• Experience in business intelligence and data warehousing
• Database Security
• Backup and recovery (SQL Redgate experience will be an added advantage)
• SSIS, SSRS and Analysis Services experience
