PURPOSE OF POSITION
The purpose of this position is to ensure that all EHSQ risks for the hydrogen demonstration plant are identified, assessed and managed in order to comply with legal and regulatory requirements. This position will be responsible for the legal compliance and safety of the hydrogen production plant in every project phase.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES
- Operational Health and Safety Experience in Mining, Energy or Manufacturing Industry
- Relevant training in Risks assessments and management and Health and Safety
- Knowledge on Namibian and/or South-African regulatory frameworks
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY
- Ensuring technical compliance of the new-build hydrogen demonstration plant with applicable laws and regulations by closely collaborating with demo-project team, reviewing design data, advising on tenders and bids.
- Conduct and support with Risk Assessments, and support with mitigating measures (including security topics)
- Documents compliance by completing approval applications, reporting test results, preparing and filing Declarations of Conformity.
- Explaining and defining compliance protocols and measures to stakeholders and relevant authorities.
- Conduct orientation and trainings on EHSQ aspects to employees and external partners.
- Enforce safe work practices and correct unsafe conditions.
- Ensure that all EHSQ risks for the hydrogen demonstration plant are identified, assessed and managed in order to comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for the legal compliance and safety of the hydrogen production plant in every phase of the project.
- Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis pertaining to the area(s) of responsibility.
- Identifies the best person (or people) for a particular task and acts as a facilitator to motivate and direct the work
- Prioritizes tasks to ensure that projects are completed by deadlines, streamline processes to maximize productivity
- Analyses past and current performance and recommends objectives to improve productivity and profitability.
