Description
The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for overseeing the receipt and dispatch of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling stock, and maintaining high standards of documentation and data integrity. This role is critical to ensuring our warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the receipt and dispatch of goods with precision and efficiency.
- Conduct detailed checks of incoming and outgoing stock to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data records related to inventory.
- Perform basic numerical calculations and recordkeeping.
- Monitor stock levels and manage warehouse-based stock handling processes.
- Ensure compliance with warehouse methodologies and principles.
- Take accountability for results, including losses, damage, or theft.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Perform back-up checks of stock and move comfortably within the warehouse.
Requirements
- Education: Grade 12.
- License: Valid drivers license is a must.
- Language: Fluent in both Afrikaans and English.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Numerical Ability: Basic numerical aptitude.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and literate.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient in computer use.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in receiving/dispatch checking is a must.
- Organizational Awareness: Knowledge of warehouse methodologies and principles.
- Stock Handling: Experience with warehouse-based stock and handling processes.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Accountability: Ability to take responsibility for results and manage losses.
- Stress Tolerance: Capable of working under stress and pressure.
- Prioritization: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Cold Storage: Experience in cold storage environments is required.
- SAP: Relevant SAP experience will be advantageous.
- Physical Comfort: Ability to move comfortably and perform physical tasks related to stock handling.
