POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 1


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To provide and support laundry services required by guests, internal outlets & outsources laundry whilst maintaining the highest possible standards. Responsible for the safety and quality transport of linen, uniforms, and internal outlets linen from the Hotel to the offside laundry.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum Grade 12
  • Minimum of 1 year housekeeping\laundry experience in a hotel\lodge\B&B
  • Operating industrial laundry equipment.
  • Valid Drivers License Code B and PDP.
  • Operating industrial laundry equipment

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • Demonstrates service values of being warm, welcoming, caring, friendly and helpful to all guests.
  • Identify linen or uniforms that require repair or special treatment and facilitating immediate action through tailors or Laundry Supervisors.
  • Ensure timely delivery of linen and other items to and from the hotel.
  • Receive, sort and double check the condition of all incoming and outgoing linen and uniforms before storage and issuance.
  • Perform maintenance and upkeep of the assigned vehicle and ensure road worthiness.
  • Hand over lost property to the security department, maintain a register, and ensure the safekeeping of items until claimed and returned.
  • Retrieve laundry and dry-cleaning bags from guest rooms, ensuring accurate guest names, room numbers, and listed laundry pieces.
  • Conduct thorough checks on garments, care labels, and fabric conditions both before and after washing and dry cleaning.
  • Ensure that hygiene standards are adhered to at all times & disinfect the treatment surfaces & equipment.
  • Accurately document linen and item movement using control sheets for incoming and outgoing hotel supplies.
  • Log daily trips, track mileage, and monitor petrol consumption in the drivers logbook.
  • Support stocktaking efforts upon request.
  • Constantly monitor and check the quality-of-service delivery towards the guests and make sure the processes are speaking to the brand and the provided quality guideline.
