Description

We are seeking a dynamic Key Accounts Manager with a strong background in logistics and transport to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Management: Oversee and manage key logistics and transport accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and operational efficiency. Build strong, long-lasting client relationships to foster loyalty and repeat business.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of logistics and transport professionals, including drivers, coordinators, and support staff. Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to ensure optimal performance and professional growth.
  • Business Development: Drive the growth of current client accounts by identifying opportunities to expand services. Develop and implement strategies to acquire new clients, including networking, client visits and leveraging industry contacts.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure that all logistics and transport operations are conducted efficiently and within budget. Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to maintain high standards.
  • Driver Recruitment and Management: Assist in the recruitment, training and management of drivers to ensure a reliable and effective workforce. Ensure that all drivers comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Sales and Marketing Support: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and strategies that align with client needs and industry trends. Utilize sales and marketing knowledge to enhance client engagement and drive revenue growth.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports for the Head of Operations on client performance, team efficiency, and business development activities. Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Vehicle Management: Oversee the maintenance and utilization of company vehicles to ensure they are in optimal condition for operations. Coordinate with the fleet management team to address any vehicle-related issues.

Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in logistics is essential.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the logistics and transport industry.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing is an added advantage.
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of logistics and transport clients.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Demonstrated success in driving growth with existing clients and acquiring new business.
  • Ability to assist in the recruitment and management of drivers.
  • Must have a personal vehicle.
  • Reports directly to the Head of Operations.
