Description

We are looking for a dedicated Operations Officer with a strong background in logistics and transport to oversee and optimize our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day logistics and transport operations, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. This includes managing schedules, coordinating shipments, and monitoring delivery timelines to meet client expectations.
  • Driver Coordination: Manage and coordinate long-haul and cross-border drivers, ensuring that they are dispatched efficiently and comply with all safety regulations and company policies. Address any issues that arise during transport to minimize disruptions.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead and supervise a team of operations staff, including dispatchers, coordinators, and support personnel. Provide ongoing training and development to enhance team performance and ensure that all team members adhere to operational standards.
  • Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any operational concerns and ensuring high levels of service delivery. Work closely with clients to understand their needs and tailor services to meet their specific requirements.
  • Service Excellence: Implement and maintain best practices in logistics and transport operations, focusing on continuous improvement to enhance service provision. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all operations comply with industry regulations, including transportation laws, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Conduct regular audits and safety checks to maintain compliance and address any potential risks.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed reports on operational activities, including driver performance, delivery metrics, and client satisfaction. Provide these reports to the Key Accounts Manager and other senior management as required.
  • Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance and management of the companys fleet of vehicles. Ensure that all vehicles are serviced regularly, are in good working condition, and comply with legal and safety requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly address and resolve any operational challenges that arise, including delays, equipment failures, or client complaints. Develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions and maintain service levels.

Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • A qualification in logistics and transport is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in operations within the logistics and transport sector.
  • Strong supervisory skills with a focus on operational excellence.
  • Experience working with long-haul and cross-border drivers.
  • Proven ability to enhance service provision and improve client relations.
  • Must have a personal vehicle.
  • Reports to the Key Accounts Manager.
