Location: Superfarm, Mariental

Controller: Team Leader Feeding

Grade: C4


Purpose of Position

To control and direct all activities regarding feeding operations, administration, stock control, maintenance of equipment, and leading and directing the feeding team to achieve the critical success factors of the business unit.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • An honours degree in Agriculture specializing in animal nutrition.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working on a dairy farm or similar environment.
  • Code B Drivers License.


Key accountabilities:

  • Assist operators during the feeding process to ensure timely feeding of the herd.
  • Oversee feeding operations, including weigh back management and feed quality management.
  • Ensure timely ordering and delivery of all feed components and materials.
  • Implement rations in line with the fodder flow program.
  • Supervise feeding operations for procedural compliance and efficiency.
  • Coordinate the calibration and maintenance of feeding equipment.
  • Ensure all stock received is weighed, quality checked, recorded, and stored properly.
  • Conduct weekly and month-end stock counts and manage damaged or obsolete stock.
  • Lead and direct subordinates according to daily work processes.
  • Provide on-the-job training and manage performance and behaviour of team members.
  • Manage the Jarrison time and attendance system and coordinate leave plans.
  • Ensure adherence to care and maintenance procedures for tractors, loaders, and other equipment.
  • Report faults and coordinate maintenance and repair job cards.
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Train subordinates on Health and Safety regulations and ensure PPE is worn.
  • Support the development and improvement of processes, procedures, and information systems related to feeding.
  • Engage with Line Managers to optimize product and system quality.
