Introduction

The Insights, Performance, and Reporting Specialist is responsible for collecting and analyzing data to generate actionable insights. They ensure data quality, create detailed reports, and conduct market research. This role enhances Capricorns strategic decision-making by providing accurate information, identifying market trends, and supporting continuous strategy-related feedback, communication, and improvement.

MAIN OUTPUTS / KPAS (Weight)

1. Strategy-related Data Collection, Management, and Analysis

a. Identify and integrate data from various internal and external sources to ensure comprehensive data coverage.

b. Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of collected data through stringent data quality assurance practices.

c. Perform descriptive analysis to summarize historical data and identify patterns or trends.

d. Utilize predictive analysis techniques, including statistical models and machine learning, to forecast future trends and outcomes.

e. Develop prescriptive analysis recommendations based on data analysis to inform decision-making.

f. Create dashboards and visualizations to present data insights in an accessible and understandable format, facilitating data-driven decision-making.

2. Reporting and Communication

a. Implement standardized reporting frameworks and templates to ensure consistency in reporting across the organization.

b. Generate regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs), providing stakeholders with up-to-date performance data.

c. Provide ad hoc reports as needed to address specific questions or issues, ensuring that stakeholders have the information they need when they need it.

d. Implement systems for automated data reporting to ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports.

e. Identify key stakeholders and their information needs, tailoring communication to ensure relevance and clarity.

f. Implement a comprehensive communication plan outlining key messages, channels, and frequency of communication.

g. Establish feedback mechanisms for stakeholders to provide input on reports and insights, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.


3. Market Research and Environmental Scanning

a. Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, market size, growth opportunities, and the competitive landscape.

b. Supports the Senior Strategy manager in the use strategic planning frameworks like Scenario Planning, 3-Horizons, SWOT and PESTLE analysis to make sense and make use of environmental scanning research and data analysis.

c. Supports the Senior Strategy manager to benchmark the organizations performance against industry standards and best practices.

d. Identify market trends and monitor changes to identify new opportunities and potential threats.

e. Support the Senior Strategy manager to assess the competitive landscape to understand the positioning and strategies of key competitors.

f. Support in gathering and analyzing customer and market data to understand needs, preferences, and behavior.

g. Produce comprehensive industry reports and studies to inform strategic decisions.


4. Insights Dissemination and Knowledge Sharing

a. Share insights and reports with internal stakeholders through meetings, emails, and intranet portals to ensure alignment and informed decision-making.

b. Communicate relevant insights and reports to external stakeholders, such as investors and regulatory bodies, to maintain transparency and compliance.

c. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing by regularly disseminating insights and best practices within the organization, encouraging continuous learning and improvement

d. Conduct workshops and training sessions to help stakeholders understand and utilize the insights effectively, enhancing their decision-making capabilit ies.


5. Performance Monitoring and Evaluation

a. Track the impact of insights and reports on decision-making and business performance, ensuring that the organization remains on track to meet its strategic goals.

b. Develop and monitor KPIs and OKRs to evaluate the effectiveness of insights, reporting, and communication activities.

c. Generate regular performance reports to keep stakeholders informed about progress toward strategic goals.

d. Conduct regular reviews and adjustments to strategies and processes based on performance data and stakeholder feedback.

e. Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance data analysis, reporting, and communication practices.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE

  • Techniques for conducting market research and competitive analysis.
  • Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Experience in conducting environmental scanning and SWOT/PESTLE analysis
  • Working knowledge of financial services products and services
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL and Excel.
  • Experience in working with data visualization software (e.g. Power BI).
  • Skills in developing and executing communication strategies.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years in a relevant business environment in a data analysis, business intelligence, or similar role.
