Description

Our client is looking for a merchandiser to assist a sales representative in Namibia, building stands and merchandise stock. This person will help to build a brand in the retail market.

Primary Responsibilities:

Product Placement and Display:

  • Travel to multiple retail locations to set up and maintain product displays according to company guidelines and planograms.
  • Ensure consistency in visual merchandising standards across various locations.
  • Implement seasonal or promotional displays as directed by the company.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels at various locations, ensuring adequate stock and proper product rotation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and store managers to replenish stock and address any inventory issues.
  • Conduct stock audits and ensure accuracy in inventory records.

Sales Strategy and Analysis:

  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies to increase product visibility and sales at each location.
  • Analyze sales data and customer feedback to adjust product placement and promotional strategies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and merchandising efforts and make recommendations for improvements.

Market Research and Reporting:

  • Conduct market research to understand local customer preferences and competitor activities.
  • Prepare reports on merchandising activities, sales performance, and market trends for management.
  • Provide feedback on market conditions and customer insights to help shape future merchandising strategies.

Customer Interaction:

  • Engage with store staff and customers to gather feedback and provide support on product-related inquiries.
  • Address any merchandising or product-related issues that arise and offer solutions.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with store managers, sales teams, and marketing departments to align merchandising efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Coordinate with other traveling merchandisers or field teams to ensure cohesive strategies and execution.

Travel and Logistics:

  • Plan and organize travel itineraries to visit assigned locations efficiently.
  • Manage travel expenses and adhere to company policies regarding travel and reimbursement.
  • Adapt to varying work environments and store conditions while maintaining high standards of merchandising.

Requirements

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of merchandising principles and sales techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, especially in managing multiple locations.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using retail software, tools, and reporting systems.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid drivers license and own car is a MUST.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work environments.
  • Extensive travelling is required.
  • A minimum level of matric.
  • Experience in the hardware industry will be an advantage but not compulsory. (Training will be done).

Remuneration:

  • Fuel and basic car services provided.
  • All travel expenses will be covered.
