Position summary

Introduction

Support and implement the Groups overall strategic stakeholder engagement, corporate social responsibility and corporate communication plans and programs. Programs may include stakeholder engagement events and internal and external communication. The role is instrumental in communicating the Groups purpose internally and externally, building and fostering employee engagement and ensuring successful stakeholder events management that complies with brand standards.

1. Stakeholder Engagement and Management

Detailed Description

1.1 Develop and execute the Groups annual strategic stakeholder engagement and management plan, which is aligned with the Groups material matters. Proactively build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and communication with specific stakeholder groups, focusing on the media and community.

1.2 Review and update the stakeholder engagement and management tools and resources including the Group stakeholder engagement framework and guide.

1.3 Ensure the adoption of the Group stakeholder engagement and management policy and stakeholder engagement guidelines throughout subsidiaries.

1.4 Continuously update the stakeholder database. Coordinate all inputs into this database to generate reports, draw monthly reports on Capricorn Groups progress in relation to set objectives and targets. Collaborate with subsidiaries to establish and coordinate a functional stakeholder management system.

1.5 Create stakeholder engagement opportunities that help the Group in building relationships, enhance and protect the profile and reputational value of Capricorn Group.

1.6 Plan, coordinate, and organize strategic events and stakeholder engagement platforms for both internal and external stakeholders. This includes the end-to-end management, planning and budgeting of these and ensuring the appropriate positioning of the Group during these events / engagements.

1.7 Identify opportunities for Brand and corporate identity promotion through the means of sponsorships and CSI initiatives as well as amongst existing projects to build change-maker concepts from employees perspectives.

1.8 Proactively build on the employee community volunteerism programme, the Changemaker programme, to promote the Capricorn Brand and to enhance employee engagement.

1.9 As member of the Capricorn Foundation Management Committee, provide general support to the Head of the Foundation to ensure that the Foundation contributes to positioning Capricorn Group as a connector of positive change. Reviewing and assessing new project applications, conducting site visits, providing media relations support, and content writing for reports. Communicate all activities through internal and external communication channels.

2. Corporate Communication (internal and external)

Detailed Description

2.1 Review and implement the Groups communication (internal and external) strategy. Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies to promote consistent and positive messages.

2.2 Test the effectiveness of the Groups communication strategy by using surveys, bi-annual communication audits to inform communication strategy reviews.

2.3 Ensure adoption and implementation of the Group corporate communication policy and procedure by subsidiaries. Follow up on any misalignments and take corrective steps / action.

2.4 Communicate consistently via appropriate internal communication channels (e.g. intranet, As One, etc.), and external channels (social media).

2.5 Collaborate and support key business departments with communication strategies and plans and implementation with most appropriate tools and channels. Follow the same approach for internal campaigns (IT, HR, Risk). Provide relevant risk management support.

2.6 Plan, coordinate and implement the annual internal Change Programme, the Connector Programme as a strategic tool to foster Brand pride, use it as a channel to communicate strategic initiatives and to promote teamwork.

2.7 Annual re-evaluate and redevelop the Connector Programme to ensure this face-to-face internal communication channel aligns to goals and objectives of the Group and promotes a shared internal culture and brand pride.

2.8 Support the Group Executives in writing and publication of thought leadership articles to build the Capricorn Branch as thought leaders in various fields such as IT, Risk, HC, CSR and Brand.

2.9 Provide for the Groups annual integrated report regarding stakeholder management and CSR activities.

2.10 Support the Group Executives in the development and execution of all aspects of a public relations (PR) plan, including creating content of press releases and articles, developing media relationships, handling media inquiries, and pitching stories.

2.11 Ensure the timely publication of the groupwide newsletter

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Relevant degree in Public Relations/ Communication/ Journalism

Ideal

  • Honours Degree in related field

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Minimum

  • Seven years experience in communication and stakeholder engagement management with active networks; experience within the financial services industry is an advantage; journalism would be an advantage; experience in public relations management with a focus on events management.
  • Two years in a relevant senior position.
