PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:


To plan, control, supervise and monitor the payroll function by effectively and correctly executing payroll input data within set deadline, including recordkeeping and reporting.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :


  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll supervision, with proficiency in using SAP R/3 HR Payroll system.
  • MS Office proficient
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of Labour Act, Pension Fund Act, Medical Aid Regulations, SSC Act and any other relevant Acts & Legislation.
  • Driver's license


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :


  • Supervise the processing and maintenance of payroll information as per procedures and policies.
  • Prepare workflows and work procedures for review by the Human Resource Manager.
  • Conduct monthly recons of 3rd party payments.
  • Ensure that all enrolments and new employment agreements are accurately and timeously processed.
  • Keep and maintain Personnel Files per standards.
  • Execute the Death, Disability & Withdrawal Claims process and ensure that each case is timeously concluded.
  • Administer overtime by analyzing the overtime statistics & reports, liaise with Line Managers and propose & coordinate initiatives to decrease overtime in the business.
  • Assist the Manager HC with the annual manpower plan and budgeting process.
  • Administer the execution and processing of payroll input.
  • Build sound relationships with external service providers e.g. Medical Aid Funds, Pension Fund, Social Security, Banks etc. to ensure timeous conclusion of enrolments, terminations & queries.
  • Monitor, develop, and implement processes, procedures, and policies to ensure an effective internal control environment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of payroll records and systems, including HRIS and time and attendance systems.
  • Process accurate monthly payroll reconciliations of all control accounts.
  • Prepare the General Ledger recon of all salary control accounts.
  • Compile and present monthly Remuneration and Benefit reports (Overtime, Temp overtime, leave, workforce profile & AA stats, headcount etc.).
  • Monitor the accurate capturing and maintenance of payroll and HR data in SAP.
