Technical Managers (Junior & Senior)

Description

The Technical Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities associated with managing fibre rollout projects and the operation of the network once completed. It will also be the responsibility of the Technical Manager to establish and network operations and operations centre (NOC) that will monitor and do fault finding should there be any problems. They will conduct inspections, manage logistics, track progress and ensure projects are completed on time and on budget. Technical knowledge/expertise in the following: Experience in project management, logistics management, and expediting previous experience managing fibre installation projects and operating of long-haul network once completed. Ability to conduct inspections and ensure quality control. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Understanding of health and safety regulations and ability to write risk assessments, method statements and standard operating procedures. Ability to work independently and remotely. Roles and responsibilities:

• Identify and develop new projects.

Rollout:

• Planning of new projects.
• Analyzing quotes and designs.
• Oversee commencement of construction.
• Monitor construction progress.
• Site inspection.
• Review contractors tests and reports.
• Complete testing on completion of construction.
• Compile construction progress and acceptance reports.
• Implementation of active equipment

Operations:

• Establish NOC
• Establish operational processes.
• Manage third party service suppliers.
• Ensure Service Levels Agreements are met.
• Manage active equipment monitoring of network.
• Appoint and manage O&M contractor.
• Oversee interface between build Contractor and O&M Contractor.
• Compile certificates for payment.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's in Engineering or Computer Science (Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred) and aProject Management Certification (advantage)
• 10+ years of network integration, technical support with optical network technologies.
• The senior manager requires previous management experience.
