Join our clients team as a Syrup Room Team Leader, a critical role ensuring the smooth operation and quality control of the syrup manufacturing process. Your expertise will be essential in managing syrup room operations and ensuring the preparation and supply of high-quality syrup batches to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raise requisitions for raw materials.
  • Plan and coordinate the loading of sugar for syrup manufacture.
  • Oversee the preparation of simple and final syrup batches.
  • Manage micro results and enter infinity results.
  • Train staff on new procedures and KORE requirements.
  • Perform daily stock taking.
  • Manage staff overtime and leave.
  • Oversee supply chain processes, including 'why's and 5 why's' standards.
  • Conduct daily MDS backflushing and manage forklift hours.
  • Lead daily MDT meetings and ensure smooth shift changes.
  • Implement CAP strategies.
  • Cover for staff shortages when necessary.
  • Follow up on tags and outstanding purchase orders (POs).
  • Ensure the correct supply of final syrup to production.
  • Perform CIP (Clean-in-Place) on all tanks, piping, and syrup room equipment.
  • Conduct standard quality tests.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance.
  • Maintain health and safety standards.
  • Develop and discipline the syrup room team.
  • Adhere to TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 with higher-level Mathematics.
  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science or a related field.
  • Experience in the bottling industry preferred.
  • Strong numerical skills and a good understanding of hygiene requirements.
  • Availability for shift work and weekend work.
  • Ability to start immediately.
