It Support Technician

Paratus Telecommunications currently has two (2) vacancies for an IT Support Technician.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktop / server hardware and software infrastructure of Paratus customers.
• Provide 1st level support and troubleshooting of issues related to any other Paratus service or infrastructure used by Paratus customers and escalate or delegate of such issues to responsible technical staff.
• Adhere to all customer SLA requirements.
• Assist fellow system support staff with their duties as required to meet project deadlines and customer service levels.
• Assist systems installation teams with implementation of new customer IT infrastructure.
• Provide after-hours technical support standby to all Paratus IT SLA customers.
• Renew and/or upgrade qualifications as required to stay relevant with advances in technology and industry.
• Attend internal training as required.
• Adhere to procedures and standards as set out by Paratus management.
• Travel where required to fulfil work responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Organized and well-planned approach to technical configurations.
• Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills.
• A professional and analytical problem solving mind-set to effectively find the root cause, without requiring assistance.
• Handling pressure through multi-tasking and effective prioritization of workload.

The minimum requirements for the position are as follows:

• 3 years in IT desktop and server support
• MCSA Desktop
• A+, N+, CCNA or IT Diploma
• Driving License
• Own transport
• Microsoft Desktop
• Microsoft Server
• MS Office fundamentals
