MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To implement and measure optimal, proactive protection at source principles and procedures embedded within the
Swakop Uranium (SU) Security and Emergency Framework.
Key Performance Areas:
- Compile security systems and ensure that maintenance schedules on all equipment items are in place and completed accordingly.
- Ensure that all equipment continuously operate at full capacity and availability, by doing regular inspections and reporting any defects.
- Devise personnel and system benchmarks according to existing Security Standards.
- Extract and interpret reports from the system to develop crime profiles in order to rapidly detect the onset or existence of collusion or theft.
- Recommend additional surveillance operations to enhance potential and/or occurring theft or collusion.
- Prepare appropriate quality control specifications and schedules.
- Ensure prevention, detection and investigation of crime.
- Manage the Companys fire and medical emergency service.
- Develop and implement an Emergency Management Plan and ensure that relevant personnel is trained on their responsibilities and roles.
- Manage the updating of all emergency procedures and work instructions and the training of relevant personnel accordingly.
- Ensure internal Proto-teams org structure is established and well trained.
- Design, guide and monitor effective firefighting strategies, system and practices at all the operational areas.
- Develop the emergency response personnel training plan and programme.
- Audit and monitor emergency response preparedness and activity, and identify corrective action where required.
- Initiate and undertake investigations of important or delicate Security risks or personnel.
- Liaise with NAMPOL and Protective Resources Unit (PRU) on crime Issues and trends.
Requirements and experience:
- Grade 12 or current NSSCO with 20 points over 5 subjects.
- Bachelors Degree or a B Tech Degree in Security Risk Management, Emergency Management or equivalent recognized qualification.
- 8 years security operational experience within the mining industry of which 3 years should have been in a managerial capacity.
- An Honours Degree will be an added advantage.
- Asset/Emergency/Risk Management systems experience and application.
- Valid Code B/BE Drivers License.
