Hod: Planning & Project

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To manage the implementation of engineering projects strategy, aligned with the Company annual strategic objectives.

Key Performance Areas:

• Manage and co-ordinate the allocation of appropriate consultancies and other resources, to balance risk throughout the life of the various projects.
• Direct and review the efforts and performance of multi-functional sub-project contractors, teams and specialist to ensure that the most relevant proposals are pursued to achieve objectives.
• Manage and control the overall engineering project management infrastructure, systems and functions.
• Compile and manage the overall Planning & Project labour and operational budget as per company policy and procedures.
• Engage in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvement.

Requirements and experience:

• B Sc. Recognized Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Mining/Metallurgy.
• Post Graduate Qualification in Engineering or management or relevant field will be an added advantage.
• 12 years working experience in an open pit mining environment of which 5 years should have been on a Senior Management level.
• Project management experience.
• Knowledge of Mining legislation, regulations and standards.
• Knowledge of Risk, change management and control practices.
• Contractor management experience.
• Code B or BE Drivers License.
• Professional Engineering Registration is an added advantage
