We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer of high-quality skin care products. Our client is committed to innovation, excellence, and delivering exceptional products to their customers. They are seeking a skilled and dedicated Manufacturing Chemist to join their team in Windhoek.

Job Description: Our client is looking for a Manufacturing Chemist to oversee and participate in the production of cosmetic products, ensuring compliance with manufacturing documents and GMP standards. The role involves routine administrative tasks, quality control, equipment maintenance, and data management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and experience in the cosmetic industry.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine administration related to the production environment.
  • Oversee and participate in the manufacturing of cosmetic products.
  • Ensure formulations comply with criteria set in the manufacturing documents and give clearance to fill batches.
  • Ensure GMP compliance in the manufacturing environment.
  • Comply with and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Control deviations according to SOPs.
  • Administer relevant paperwork, including maintenance and organization of logs and records.
  • Ensure that laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Conduct routine testing and data capturing.
  • Maintain registers and manufacturing-related paperwork.
  • Perform stock takes of inventory used for manufacturing.
  • Resolve stock take discrepancies.
  • Maintain Quality Control standards in both laboratory and manufacturing environments.

Requirements

  • BSc Degree (Chemistry) with Matric Maths on Higher Grade.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
  • Coschem or an equivalently relevant qualification (beneficial).
  • At least 5 years manufacturing and production experience in the cosmetic industry.
  • Namibian Citizen.
  • Willingness to travel to South Africa for training and operational requirements as needed.
  • Available to start working immediately.
