Position summary

Introduction

The primary purpose of this position Responsible for conceptualising, developing and creating visual, video and graphic content to elevate brand awareness, communicate to internal and external stakeholders and increase engagement on the Groups digital channels.

Job description


General Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Group Brand Manager to assist in developing integrated campaigns and creating creative content supporting the Group Brand Strategy
  • To support the Group Communications and Stakeholder engagement Manager with key design executions that drive the Groupwide communication strategy across different internal channels, as well as carry out design work needed for external stakeholder engagements.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all creative content and digital marketing platforms.
  • Clear understanding and compliance with the Groups visual language.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant Group policies on Brand Management.
  • Assist in developing a strategy for integrated media campaigns and implementing this strategy

Design responsibilities

  • Assist with creative direction on internal and external campaigns and ensure that they are in line with the visual language and brand guidelines.
  • Support the Group Brand Manager by continuously enhancing the Groups visual language.
  • Conceptualise and deliver engaging, optimised, and creative content that aligns with the strategic intent and the Groups visual language for use on various digital and traditional media platforms.
  • Creative content includes but is not limited to, videos, social media posts, print advertisements, invitations, brochures, graphs, illustrations, infographics, newsletters, etc.
  • Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and of high quality and maintain project deadlines.
  • Assist with event concept planning, execution, and applicable design needs.
  • Assist with concept planning and applicable design needs for internal campaigns from respective business units in support to the Group Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Manager.
  • Able to transform and simplify complex concepts, data, and content-heavy pieces into engaging and easy-to-digest forms.
  • Design, order, and maintain stock levels of printed stationary i.e., business cards, brochures, letterheads, envelopes, etc.
  • Support the rest of the Group Brand & Corporate Affairs department team members, including the Capricorn Foundation, with any design and digital media requirements.

Digital Marketing Platform responsibilities

  • Continuously increase followership, reach and engagement to grow our brand equity by crafting, uploading, scheduling, managing, and monitoring content on digital marketing platforms.
  • Monitor, manage and respond to comments and messages on digital marketing platforms.
  • Identify, monitor, and escalate reputational risks on digital marketing platforms.

Self-development

  • Remain current with the latest industry brand and design and digital marketing trends.
  • Remain current with technological and digital marketing platform enhancements and developments.
  • Conduct industry reviews and analysis to inform campaign conceptualisation and artwork direction.

Minimum Requirements

  • Specific knowledge and experience in design, copywriting, project management and digital marketing.
  • Proficient in the following programmes:
  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro, Adobe Acrobat).
  • Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Design related generative AI platforms.
  • Excellent knowledge of
  • Digital Marketing and Advertising,
  • Digital reporting and analysis,
  • Social Media and Direct Communication Marketing,
  • Google Ads,
  • SEO and
  • AI platforms.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Adequate knowledge of the systems and procedures that apply to the position to carry out tasks efficiently

Minimum Requirements

  • A degree, postgraduate degree or diploma in a Digital Marketing, Graphic design, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience within a advertising/design agency or related industry
