PURPOSE OF THE POSITION


To assist the Store Manager with managing the overall operations of the Fresh Department by applying sound business principles and service excellence to customers and consumers to ensure profitability of the store.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


  • National Senior Level Certificate.
  • Minimum of 6 years retail experience of which 2 must be at management / senior supervisory level.
  • SAP Knowledge.
  • Supermarket experience will be advantageous.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Manage the departments stock levels by ensuring the product ranges and quality are up to standards and guides.
  • Review weekly stock takes, investigate, and take corrective actions where necessary.
  • Manage stock levels and all stock movement through proper controls and ordering.
  • Create and maintain trust relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Maintain staff control and personnel planning as well as training.
  • Conduct opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain the Health and Safety policies and procedures and ensure compliance thereof.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections daily and report to Store Manager.
  • Oversee the functions and work delivery of all reporting staff.
  • Daily review of departmental performance: Sales vs Budget
