To assist the maintenance section by performing clerical duties, presenting information in a manner which identifies data inconsistencies, promoting their immediate resolution and to facilitate controls on the maintenance planning/control systems.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Create and process scheduled and unscheduled work records in accordance with maintenance procedures.
  • Follow-up on queries relating to work orders and handle and solve queries and data inconsistencies.
  • Calculate and prepare spreadsheets and graphs to reflect production / workshops Key Performance Indicators (KPAs) and statistics.
  • Assist Production personnel create Maintenance Notifications on SAP.
  • Prepare and expedite orders placed for spares, equipment and components and identify actual or potential delivery problems and take authorized corrective action.
  • Ensure correct GL accounts and Cost Centers are selected when ordering consumables.
  • Calculate weekly availability and utilization figures, compare results with other/various departments and report discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update a filing system for all maintenance and/or component and equipment control documentation according to general standards of the section.
  • Accurately prepare and administer technical resources using specialized software applications and procedures, and maintain a filing system.

Requirements and experience:

  • Grade 12 or current NSSCO with 20 points over 5 subjects.
  • Office Administration / Secretarial certificate.
  • 2 years experience in a similar position.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
  • Any technical training/VTC training is an added advantage
  • Sound knowledge of SSHERQ procedures and standards.
  • Basic knowledge of Asset Management systems.
  • Spares / component systems knowledge.
  • SAP maintenance planning/control systems knowledge.
  • Valid Code B/BE Drivers License.
