PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To craft memorable experiences for guests by leading scheduled and ad-hoc tours and safaris, ensuring an exceptional, safe, and informative experience that aligns with Brand Standards. Ensure guests' safety, and promote Mokuti Etosha Lodge and O&L Leisure products.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Hospitality/ Tourism diploma
- 2 years' experience as a tour guide, especially in a wildlife or nature reserve setting.
- Drivers license Code 8 with PDP
- Guide license
- Knowledge of Etosha National Park and its ecosystem.
- NATH certificate in guiding
- Experience in sharing knowledge of fauna and flora with both local as well as foreign guests.
ADDED ADVANTAGE:
- Certification with NATH (Namibian Academy for Tourism and Hospitality) will be beneficial
- Multilingual in Local and international languages will be added advantage.
- First aid certification will be an added advantage.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Greet and Welcome guests and monitor the overall experience to ensure the service offered creates an unforgettable, unique experience.
- Deal with guest complaints in a pro-active and solution focused manner. Follow up with the client wherever necessary.
- Support with the running and upkeep of the game park as well as the areas in which tours are provided.
- Offer informative commentary during tours, sharing interesting facts, stories, and insights about the environment and local culture.
- Maintain awareness of first aid and emergency procedures to ensure the safety of guests during tours and activities.
- Champion the identification and reporting of hazards, evaluation or risks, and design and implementation of hazard and control measures.
- Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the lodge's surroundings, including hiking trails, wildlife habitats, and local attractions
- Maintain records of tours, guest feedback, and any incidents or accidents that occur during activities.
- Responsible for all vehicle safety and guest safety whilst on duty. Adhere to the Namibian Road Traffic law with respect to road safety and conduct.
- Escort guests on guided walks and game drives in the bush surrounding the property.
- Communicate with food and beverage department to arrange & prepare snack and ensure coolers are prepared correctly for activities.
- Conduct and deliver right time scheduled & ad-hoc tours and safaris according to the bookings/ reservations ensuring during the tours an emphasis of Safety, Education and Enjoyment.
- Ensure the safe delivery of safari products through skilled off-road driving in accordance with training and safety standards, tailored to guests' comfort levels.
- Promote Mokuti Etosha Lodge and O&L Leisure products, encouraging incremental sales of tours and safaris.
- Responsible for all vehicle safety and guest safety whilst on duty and adhere to the Namibian Road Traffic law with respect to road safety and conduct.
- To maximize sales during check in and during the guests stay
- To assist the reception with attending to guests where necessary.
- To get feedback from guest after activities and use that to improve the quality of service
