PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To install and repair all electrical equipment on the vessels to ensure that they are well maintained and remain in a good working condition at all times.Also plans the overall maintenanceof all the electrical equipment onboard the vessel, the workshop or the Jetty.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 (Mathematic and Science)
• Qualified Artisan: Electrician
• 2- 3 years experience in the fishing industry
• Experience in a supervisory capacity will be an advantage

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Receive and Manage electrical job requisition from the Chief Engineer
• Wire up new installations
• Fault finding/Trouble shooting
• Attend to power outage or failures on vessels, in and after hours
• Perform planned maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment onboard the vessel, workshop and Jetty
• Supervise subordinates
• Safety and environmental compliance
