PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:


The purpose of the position is to oversee and ensure the optimal functioning, safety, and reliability of equipment and infrastructure related to utilities, automation, processing systems, stores, and ND facilities. This entails managing the maintenance, repair, and compliance of boilers, water treatment plant, compressors (cooling and air), and machinery used in the processing stage of production such as mixing of products, CIP, milk, juices, cultures, and cream processing. The goal is to facilitate seamless and efficient departmental operations.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:


  • B.Com degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial) with 5-8 years experience.

PREFERRED ADVANTAGEOUS:


  • FMCG specific experience
  • Exposure on working/observing tetrapak machinery, filmatric, boilers, and air compressors.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to proactively identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions or repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repair history, maintenance logs, and equipment performance data.
  • Analyse reports on maintenance activities and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and breakdowns, prioritize tasks, and minimize disruptions.
  • Implement and monitor plant maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and maintain equipment within safety standards.
  • Manage contractors and supplier relations to ensure specifications and customer needs are met.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance activities.
  • Supervise water treatment softening until it reaches a certain PH level.
  • Develop maintenance schedules & procedures for machinery based on manufacturing recommendations and operators manuals.
  • Support the development of new products by working directly with NPD, quality, production & other disciplines involved in the project.
  • Prepare proposals, reports, decision papers & other documents related to projects (including approval & final sign-off) & maintain project files.
  • Monitor & calibrate automated control systems & systems components.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the automation sections of the factory including the PLCs.
  • Responsible for the compliance of equipment such as HFO, Boilers, Water reclamation, Ammoniac, and refrigeration systems.
