LOCATION: WALVIS BAY
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To install and repair all electrical equipment on the vessels to ensure that they are well maintained and remain in a good working condition at all times under the supervision of the Marine Electrician.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 (with a pass in English, Mathematics and Science)
- A Certificate in electricalinstallations
- 2-3 years experience in a marine environment/ fishing Industry
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Electrical repairs and maintenance onboard the Vessels
- Inspect machinery for possible defects
- Repair and do maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Replace defected electrical equipment and devices
- Test equipment to ensure effective functioning after repairs
- Disconnection and reconnection of all small motors
- Remove and install small motors
- Removal and Replacement of Light Fittings
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and regulations
- Strapping of Electrical Cables
- Changing of Electrical Bulbs
