Description
The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing ,purchasing ,and negotiating materials, goods and services on behalf of the company.
- Responsible for managing vendor relationships.
- Responsible for negotiating contracts with clients.
- Ensure timely delivery of quality products at the best possible price.
- Leading a team of buyers and collaborating with other departments.
- Must have very strong relationships with industry suppliers.
- Must be able to put deals together for the benefit of the company.
- Must have good knowledge of promotions.
- Must be able to do buying for construction projects.
- Must be goal and result orientated, self-motivated and positive.
- Must be aware of changes, movements and developments in the industry.
- Must be fully computer literate.
- Must be able to work independently and assess the buying needs of the different branches and of the company as a whole.
- Must be able to easily adapt to pricing and supplier variations.
Requirements
- Namibian citizenship.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration ,Supply Chain Management or any related field.
- Valid drivers license.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
- 5-8 years of prior experience in the similar role.
- Must have at least 5 years buying experience in the retail industry.
