Description

The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing ,purchasing ,and negotiating materials, goods and services on behalf of the company.

  • Responsible for managing vendor relationships.
  • Responsible for negotiating contracts with clients.
  • Ensure timely delivery of quality products at the best possible price.
  • Leading a team of buyers and collaborating with other departments.
  • Must have very strong relationships with industry suppliers.
  • Must be able to put deals together for the benefit of the company.
  • Must have good knowledge of promotions.
  • Must be able to do buying for construction projects.
  • Must be goal and result orientated, self-motivated and positive.
  • Must be aware of changes, movements and developments in the industry.
  • Must be fully computer literate.
  • Must be able to work independently and assess the buying needs of the different branches and of the company as a whole.
  • Must be able to easily adapt to pricing and supplier variations.

Requirements

  • Namibian citizenship.
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration ,Supply Chain Management or any related field.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
  • 5-8 years of prior experience in the similar role.
  • Must have at least 5 years buying experience in the retail industry.
