Chemist ( Mining Laboratory)

Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Chemist to join our mining laboratory team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized chemical analyses on mining samples using analytical instruments and techniques.
• Interpret analytical data and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize processes.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to quality control standards.
• Stay current with industry trends and developments in mining chemistry.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all members of the team

• Organization, communication, and analytical skills.

• Ability to understand and effectively communicate technical and business information, both oral and written

• Proficient with common PC based applications, specifically in the use of MS Word, Excel PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Ability to work varied and extended hours/days, as business dictates.

Requirements

Desired minimum educational experience needed in key areas of responsibility to be considered for the position

• SC or National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry
• Method optimization experience preferred
• Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting experience
• Statistical Method Development and Validation
• Relevant Technical Training and Experience (Instrument Specific XRF, AAS, ICP, Spark OES etc.)
• 5 - 10 years of experience as a Chemist in mining laboratory environment will be an advantage
• Have a sound understanding of ISO17025 and analytical method development.
• Valid drivers license (Code B)
