Maintenance Artisan (Mining)

Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Artisan to join our mining team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation & commissioning of new equipment.
• Optimize mechanical efficiency/operations of machinery and equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on motors and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturers instructions and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hand and power tools, examining form and texture of parts.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Perform regular maintenance on existing Electrical systems and Electronic components
• Design maintenance schedules for all equipment to ensure they remain in proper working order.
• Routine and on-the-spot tests of all electrical systems and circuits.
• Install, maintain and enhance electrical systems and components including fuses, lights and wiring.
• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Computer literate

Requirements

Desired minimum educational experience needed to be considered for the position

• National Vocational Certificate Level 3 (Electrical or Instrumentation or Millwright)
• 3 years experience in working experience.
