Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead the engineering, procurement, management, and construction activities of a mining project. The project entails developing associated infrastructure and mine development, with a focus on constructing a plant capable of processing 20,000 tonnes of ore per month using Multi Gravity Separation technology. The construction of the processing plant involves installing essential equipment like Multi Gravity Separators, Spiral Circuit, Crushing and Milling Circuit, Pumps, Belts, and Thickener. Concurrently, infrastructure components such as access roads, water pipelines, and power lines will be constructed to support mining operations. The successful candidate will coordinate all aspects of the project, ensuring timely completion within budget and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall execution of the EPCM phase of the mining project, from concept through commissioning and handover.
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure efficient and timely project delivery.
  • Manage project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure project milestones are met while mitigating risks and facilitating coordination among service providers of essential components.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, specifications, drawings, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to monitor construction activities, ensure compliance with safety standards, and address any project-related issues.
  • Manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures to ensure adherence to approved budgets.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory requirements and address any non-conformities promptly and effectively.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • More than 10 years Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in the mining or heavy industrial sector, with a track record of successfully managing EPCM projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, with relevant certifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes, including contract management, cost estimation, scheduling, and risk management. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must reside at the duty station throughout the contract duration.
  • Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Strong commitment to ethical conduct, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and as a leader of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good social community engagement skills.
  • Strong reporting skills to management.
