Vet Trainer - Horticulture (Mururani -Sanc Campus)

Description

• The VET Trainer position is responsible for facilitating a dynamic and effective learning environment for trainees embarking on Horticulture by developing teaching and learning materials, planning, and delivering theory and practical field lessons individual and group work.
• The position undertakes formative and summative assessments and participating as an assessor.
• The VET Trainer provides support for trainees and their parents/guardians as well as collaborating with peers to ensure quality assessments, reviews and adapt lesson plans to address real-life situations.
• The position upholds compliance with guidelines and policies, while participating in general administrative duties and professional development activities for nurturing the academic growth and success of the trainees.

Requirements

• National/Higher Diploma (NQF level 6) in Agriculture or in the field relevant to the key performance areas.
• Diploma in education is an added advantage.
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience; and at least 1 teaching experience in TVET sector.
• Demonstrate and apply trade skills at least a level higher than final qualification of trainees.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
• Adult teaching and learning skills (Pedagogic & andragogic)
• Familiarity with educational technology tools and platforms.
• Microsoft packages (word, excel, power point)
• Assessor and Moderator certificate will be an added advantage.
