Purpose of the Job: The job purpose of the IT Manager Infrastructure at Letshego Bank Namibia is to lead and manage the entire IT infrastructure and operational functions. This encompasses infrastructure planning, network management, operational support, security and compliance, team leadership, vendor management, disaster recovery execution, and comprehensive documentation. The role is essential for ensuring the bank's IT infrastructure is secure, scalable, reliable, and compliant with regulations, thus contributing to the bank's overall success and customer satisfaction.

Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Plan, design, implement, and maintain the bank's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, network systems, and data centers. Monitor infrastructure performance, ensuring optimal resource allocation and performance tuning.
  • Network Administration: Oversee the management of the corporate network, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless technologies. Ensure network security, data integrity, and disaster recovery measures are in place.
  • Operational Support: Ensure the availability and functionality of IT systems, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve IT-related problems.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and manage security protocols, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Stay updated on cybersecurity threats and best practices.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and select third-party vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships for IT services and hardware procurement.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the bank's ability to recover from IT disruptions.
  • Technology Evaluation: Continuously assess emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for infrastructure and operational improvements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the bank's IT systems and practices adhere to relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Vendor and Contract Negotiations: Negotiate and manage vendor contracts to ensure cost-effective and high-quality services.
  • End-User Support: Provide guidance and support to end-users for technical issues and assist with training as needed.


Knowledge and Skills Required of the Job Holder:

  • Senior Secondary Certificate with at least 25 Points
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Relevant certification such as, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, VMWare VCP
  • A NQA7 Certificate/Diploma/Degree in the field of information technology, or computer science will be an added advantage.

  • Technical Proficiency: A strong grasp of IT infrastructure, network administration, and system management, as well as proficiency in relevant hardware and software systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving complex IT issues promptly to ensure operational continuity.
  • Project Management: Skills in planning, executing, and monitoring IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Security Expertise: Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and the ability to implement and manage security protocols to protect sensitive data.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Proficiency in developing and maintaining plans for disaster recovery and business continuity to ensure operational resilience.
