Purpose of Position:
To supervise and coordinate QC officers throughout manufacturing stages, ensure adherence to standards, investigate and rectify reported issues, and audit field complaints with comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and customer requirements .
Qualifications/Key Requirements:
- Qualified Artisan or N3 (trade certificate)
- Level 1 Certificate in SAIW or equivalent.
- 5-7 years related industry experience (engineering and manufacturing)
Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver comprehensive quality control plans tailored to specific projects and industries.
- Ensure compliance with class rules, regulations, legislation (IACS), and IMO regulations.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to welding procedures, specifications, and standards
- Oversee the execution of procedures and ensure proper understanding and implementation by the team.
- Oversee and deliver training on welding procedures based on drawing specifications and industry best practices.
- Maintain records of welder qualifications/certifications and weld procedures.
- Ensure all NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) requirements are selected and arranged appropriately.
- Monitor compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop quality packs for projects, including necessary documentation and certifications
- Maintain accurate records of technical queries, indemnities, handovers, deviations, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Compile and maintain redline drawings and weld maps to track project progress and changes.
- Provide regular reports to management on quality performance, competency, and improvement opportunities.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients on technical matters, negotiating technical terms when necessary.
- Liaise with procurement and suppliers to ensure material requirements and certifications meet project specifications.
- Facilitate sign-off processes for technical documentation and deliverables with clients.
- Provide guidance, support, and direction to the Quality Control Officers.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback for professional development.
- Approve leave applications of subordinate.
- Foster a collaborative and cohesive team environment to maximize productivity and effectiveness.
- Provide on the job training and skills development for personnel.
- Demonstrate leadership in line with Company values, persona and breakthrough architecture.
- Handle employee grievances according to company standards and procedures.
- Managing of discipline in the workplace according to procedures and policies.
- Assign, instruct and lead the right people to the right tasks.
