Position summary

Introduction

Reporting to the MIS Manager, the MIS Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the Banks data management, data quality and the analysis of data specific to the market, the financial sector, clients, groups of clients, a product or groups of products through the identification and interpretation of various data sources, with the main purpose of supporting the Sales and Service Streams with the planning, evaluation and control of the Sales and Service Channels. Additionally, the position will contribute to the achievement of the bank objectives and the efficiency and effectiveness thereof by: providing insights for business and the development of BG products and services, monitoring the performance of business functions against targets and assisting in the production of regular reports and the monthly performance

Job description


1. MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SUPPORT (MIS)

The key focus is to optimise data sources by interaction with data owners and to analyse results from the data sources with the MIS Manager to produce:

  • Accurate business reports
  • Summaries of analyses on data at different levels such as :Transaction,Accounts,Cusomer,Staff,Productivity & Data Quality etc
  • Participate in planning processes and in creating and updating business forecasts
  • Engagement with stakeholders across business units, in order to understand, and define MIS reporting requirements.
  • Will be responsible for the generation, analysis and support of MIS reports that will help the MIS Manager identify trends that impact the business.

2. RISK MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGIC SUPPORT

  • Data models and MIS reporting specifically designed for the various Banking Channels must be aligned to the overall Information Management Strategy of the bank.
  • Coordinate the pulling together of information from all areas of the Bank in relation to performance against business plan targets and KPIs.

3. BANKING PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE MANAGEMENT

  • The incumbent is responsible for the availability of management information for the Product Life Cycle Management that are conducted by the Retail Banking, Electronic and Bancassurance Channel Departments.
  • The incumbent is responsible for extracting the management information on:Product Features,Product Costing, Product Profitability, Product Processes & Product Risks
  • Responsible for data development and analysis for the Product Life Cycle Management.

4. ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT

Support the various business units through the following:

  • Manage existing and develop new daily / weekly and monthly operational reports
  • Assist with administration of the Banks Doc store
  • Extract and distribute reports on the Banks data quality reporting (KYC reporting, RIM and Fees and Charges Watchdog)

Minimum requirements


  • Minimum of Degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or business related courses
  • Minimum of 3 (three) years experience on data analytics/ management information environment preferably in the financial sector
  • Experience in database programming including SQL or appropriate data tools
  • Understanding of data pipelining & performance optimisation
