PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The purpose of this position is to enhance guest experiences through facilities management and maintaining the building, grounds, and physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security, and asset protection. Ensure all areas in the hotel are in excellent condition and that all equipment and rooms are fully functional and is ready for the arrival of all guests.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

  • Min National Trade Certificate in electrical and refrigeration maintenance
  • Minimum 5-year practical maintenance experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC R/electrical/plumbing.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program for all equipment in the hotel, including the kitchen and laundry.
  • Oversee the building maintenance and guest room and public area rehabilitation.
  • Prepare the annual and revised engineering business plan in close operation with the Financial Controller and Management, commensurate with operational requirements of the property.
  • Observe energy efficiency of all equipment, forwarding to management suggestions for replacement of energy inefficient equipment and to report to all management, all wastage of energy. that all documents related to the operation of the department are being kept up to date, and that all records are correctly maintained and file.
  • Educate and train all team members in compliance with state and local laws and safety regulations, ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
  • Performs monthly property inspection to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.
  • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements. Plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members.
  • Assist in the building of an efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety, and development.
