The Core Banking Specialist at Letshego Bank Namibia is instrumental in ensuring the seamless functioning of our core banking systems and driving innovation in our product offerings. The primary purpose of this role is to manage, maintain, and optimize the bank's core banking software and processes, while also proactively introducing new banking products and refining existing ones as required by the Bank's strategic objectives.

Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Core Banking System Management: Oversee and manage the bank's core banking systems, ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance.
Product Development: Development of new banking products and services, conducting market research and feasibility studies to identify customer needs and preferences.
Product Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize existing banking products, enhancing their efficiency, user-friendliness, and competitive edge.
Compliance and Regulation: Ensure that all banking products and services adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements, staying updated on industry standards and regulations.
Risk Management: Assess and manage risks associated with product development and enhancements, implementing necessary controls and safeguards.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, and customer service, to ensure the successful rollout of new products and product enhancements.
Training and Documentation: Develop training materials and documentation for staff and customers to ensure they are well-informed about new and existing products.
Customer Support: Collaborate with customer support teams to address customer inquiries and issues related to banking products and services.
Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics to assess the performance of existing products and make data-driven decisions for improvements.



Knowledge and Skills Required of the Job Holder:
Senior Secondary Certificate with at least 25 Points
5+ years of relevant experience
Understanding of Banking: A strong understanding of banking operations, regulations, and financial systems is highly beneficial.
A NQA7 Certificate/Diploma/Degree in the field of Data analytics, information technology, or computer science.
Industry Certifications: Certificates that demonstrate expertise in areas such as project management, product development, or IT management. Relevant certifications might include PMP (Project Management Professional), ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), or certifications specific to core banking systems.


Skills Required
Banking and Financial Knowledge: A deep understanding of banking and financial products, services, and industry regulations.
Product Development: Proficiency in developing and managing banking products and services, including market research, feasibility analysis, and product lifecycle management.
Market Analysis: The ability to conduct market research, analyze customer needs and preferences, and identify opportunities for product development and optimization.
Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of financial industry regulations and standards, ensuring that products and services comply with legal requirements.
Risk Management: Proficiency in assessing and managing risks associated with product development and enhancement.
Collaboration: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, working closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, and customer service.
Communication: Effective communication skills to convey complex financial information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges and make data-driven decisions for product improvements.
